Casino Royale 1954 Wikipedia
Michael Pate: 1954. The first screen interpretation of the Leiter character was in the 1954 CBS one-hour television adventure Casino Royale, broadcast as part of the dramatic anthology series Climax Mystery Theater, which ran between October 1954 and June 1958. Directed by Val Guest, Ken Hughes, John Huston. With David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Orson Welles. In an early spy spoof, aging Sir James Bond comes out of retirement to take on SMERSH. According to Jesper Christensen, he was cast as Mr. White in 2006's Casino Royale based almost solely on his show reel and without having to perform a screen test. A total of roughly three weeks were spent filming in France, Pinewood Studios and Lake Como; with a couple of days used for each location.
Casino Royale is the twenty first James Bondmovie. It is the first to star Daniel Craig as the secret agent James Bond. It was released on November 17, 2006.
